Biography: Stephanie Waters

Learned the art of storytelling at the knee of her southern born grandmother. Like her grandmother, Stephanie has been 'seeing' ghosts since early childhood. She owns Blue Moon Haunted History Tours in Manitou Springs, Colorado and also teaches classes to help students develop psychic awareness. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, painting and most of all, ghost hunting. She has a degree in liberal arts and is a self described history geek and mountain mama. Her first book 'Haunted Manitou Springs' will be published by The History Press in September of 2011 and will be followed by 'Haunted Colorado Springs' in September of 2012.

Established in 1871 a resort community and logical stop on the growing railroad line winding its way through the state, Colorado Springs is a city with a long history. Dubbed "Little London," the city soon featured high end lodging and dining as well as interesting tourist attractions and healing springs. Old landmarks like the Broadmoor Hotel (opened in 1918 and still in operation today) Antlers Hotel (opened in 1883, rebuilt after a tragic fire, and eventually demolished in the 1960s--now the site of a modern Hilton), and Bruin Inn (built in 1881 at Helen Hunt Falls, only a small building remains and serves as the visitors center to the Falls today), offer eerie tales of the unexplained and paranormal. The nearby university and the one time red light district (two different locations) are also supposed to be supernatural hot spots.

Manitou Springs has long been known as a spiritual hot spot. From the healing waters of the local springs to the town's patron spirit, the benevolent Emma Crawford, whose life--and afterlife--is celebrated annually at Halloween, Manitou Springs takes pride in its legends and legendary residents. Join haunted tour guide Stephanie Waters as she uncovers the stories behind some of Manitou's most famous ghostly tales: the historic spirit lights on Pikes Peak, the specters of Red Stone Castle where poor Emma's sister went mad, and the phantoms of the stately Cliff House and Briarhurst manor.

On our trip last year to the great Cashtown Inn in Cashtown PA, we a had a few strange and unexplained phenomena happen. This was one of the strangest. Upon arrival we set up our equipment and I took five coins out of my pocket and placed them on the dresser in the bedroom. We were staying in the 2 room suite on the top floor of the Inn. That is the only room that they rent out on that floor. Once our equipment was set up we left the room to check out the rest of the Hotel.

When we came back this is how the coins were rearranged. We were quite surprised. We tried hard to see if this could of happened by accident but with no satisfaction, so it is what it is. Unexplained, all of the coins were moved. We lined the coins back up in the same order and they stayed that way for the rest of our visit.

Great place to visit and investigate. The owners are very professional and the hotel was extremely clean and quiet. We did get some other evidence that night and the personal experiences were many. I won't spoil the fun, go there yourself and feel the past. I will tell you that the couple before us left to sleep in their car.

See the Cashtown Inn investigated by the TAPS team on the fourth season of Ghost Hunters. Titled "The Fear Cage".

We are doing a Haunted Manitou Springs Bed and Breakfast. This will be a combined effort between our team and the owners. It will be an all inclusive night for you to enjoy the atmosphere of a historic hotel and ghost hunting. We will be doing 2 different B&B's and CSGH will place details here soon. If we get any evidence, that will also be posted. This location has signed over full release and we will post their website after the investigation.
